Visit the Sanshui production base and feel the charm of aluminum production!

On June 18, 2024, the Laoguang Group Headquarters visited the Sanshui production base to learn more about the entire process of aluminum from aluminum ingots to final products. This was a valuable experience that helped employees better understand the production process and procedures of aluminum.

 


The Sanshui production base is located in Shanshui District, Foshan City, Guangdong Province. It is one of the two major production bases of Laoguan Aluminum. It covers an area of ​​nearly 130,000 square meters and has a complete set of modern factory buildings.

1、Melting, Casting
Calculate ingredients → load the furnace → burn and melt → stir and slag → add silicon and magnesium → refine and slag → analyze before the furnace → adjust composition and temperature → secondary refining and degassing → slag → keep warm → analyze → cast rods after passing the test.
When the temperature reaches 730℃-750℃, clean all impurities and aluminum slag in the furnace, add silicon and magnesium, and after silicon and magnesium are melted, add slag remover and refining agent for refining.






2、Extrusion, Aging 
Aluminum rod, mold, extrusion barrel heating → mold setting → start extrusion → quenching → interruption → straightening → sizing, sawing → framing → aging

Surface treatment
Surface treatment is divided into oxidation, electrophoresis and spraying.

Oxidation - The process of placing aluminum and aluminum alloy products as anodes in an electrolytic solution and using the action of electrolyte to form an oxide film on their surface is called anodic oxidation of aluminum and aluminum alloy products.



Electrophoresis - Aluminum oxide is used as the anode and placed in a water-soluble latex. The charged colloidal particles dispersed in the water medium move toward the electrode with the opposite charge under the action of a DC electric field. Since the resistance of the colloidal particles to the water medium during movement is much greater than the resistance to ion migration in a true solution in an electric field, their movement speed is slower, just like swimming in a water medium, so it is called electrophoresis.



Spraying - Use electrostatic powder spraying equipment to spray powder coating onto the surface of the workpiece. Under the action of static electricity, the powder will be evenly adsorbed on the surface of the workpiece to form a powdery coating; the powdery coating is leveled and solidified after high-temperature baking to become the final coating with different effects; the spraying effect is superior to the painting process in terms of mechanical strength, adhesion, corrosion resistance, and aging resistance.
 


 
4、Acceptance packaging and delivery
After a series of surface treatments, the final acceptance will come, which is usually carried out by appearance inspection, dimension measurement, material analysis, etc. Qualified products will be labeled with the "Laoguang" logo, classified and packaged, and can be shipped out.
